How OfflineRadar detects outages

Our servers check every monitored service every 3 minutes: they connect to its website and measure whether it responds and how fast. A failed check is repeated immediately to rule out a random error.

Many outages are invisible from the outside, though — the website loads but login, card payments or messages fail. That’s why we also collect reports from users. For every service we know the usual number of reports per hour; when it is sharply exceeded, we change the status to “possible problems” or “outage”.

We accept one report per service from one IP address every 30 minutes. We never store IP addresses — only a one-way fingerprint that changes every day.

We are not affiliated with the monitored companies. For official information, check their own websites and social media.
